A long needed update

Got a new graphics card at The Gathering ’10
Photobucket

And a bunch of manga.
Let’s start of with Tsuiteru Kanojo (ツいてる彼女), I didn’t actually mean to buy this one, but the site I bought from didn’t have any pictures, and wrote the name only in romaji.
I actually wanted Tsuiteru Kanojo (ツイてるカノジョ)
See that, exact same fucking romanization, so when the site only wrote the title in romaji, how the fuck should I know there where two mangas with the same title. >_>
Haven’t read it yet though, let’s just hope it’s good.
Photobucket

Second, Nana to Kaoru (ナナとカオル), this book be quite interesting. (Sidenote: this is not hentai, despite what the cover would make you think.)
I’m guessing there will be about 5 volumes, so still a bit to go.
Photobucket

And again, yes, cpmasked.
I have now realized I must stook up on this stuff before an eventual ban.
There probably won’t be one, but one can never be to careful.
At least if you consider all those bat shit insane feminist groups out there.
Photobucket

And Urusei Yatsura (うる星やつら)\Takahashi Rumiko (高橋 留美子) Illustration book
Rumiko is also the mangaka for hit series like Ranma 1/2 Maison Ikkoku and Inuyasha, should you think anything looks familiar.
So here, have a shitstorm of high-res pictures.

More stuff

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I like stuff, okay? Sorry.

First of, the games I didn’t have a picture of previously, just for the hell of it.
Photobucket

And a new Manga series that arrived in the mail today. :)
Blue Drop – Tenshi no Bokura
Photobucket

Also, it might seem very, hmm, I dunno, NSFW?
And well, it might be NSFW, but, it is in fact not an adult manga. (It even has furigana, which helps kids read it. (And people who’re learning japanese.))
Though, it does have some wtf moments, here have a sample. (nsfw)
Photobucket
I poorly edited in a panel from the next page, so if you can read japanese (Very simple japanese with furigana mind you.) go ahead, you’ll go “o_0″

MMM – Manga, Music & Mmmmmgames

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

I’ve recently picked up a couple of games, Persona 4 (With OST) for the PS2 and Drømmefall – Den lengste reisen (In english: Dreamfall – The longest journey) for PC.
Sorry, no pictures right now. :/

A couple of weeks ago I went to Oslo, Why? Because one of my friends is an actor, so I was invited to go watch a play. It ended up being really great. :3
I also grabbed the chance to get the last two volumes of Genshiken (8 & 9)
Photobucket

Today I first picked up a couple of albums on a whim.
Alestorm – Black Sails at Midnight
Photobucket
Yeah I know, “True scottish pirate metal”, god damnit that’s awesome. :P

and also Masterplan with the album Masterplan.
Photobucket
Sorry for the blurry pictures, I blame the camera.

I got some stuff in the mail today.
Tamaoki Benkyo’s latest manga series, ねくろまねすく (Necromanesque. I dunno why it’s written like that, I figured it would be ねくろまねすくえ, but apparently there’s no ‘e’ (え) at the end in japanese.)
Photobucket

A touhou manga, Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, with a CD.
Two pictures since the golden part doesnt work with the blitz, and the rest looks terrible without the blitz. :/
Photobucket
Photobucket

And here, have some heavily censored stuff. (Though, it is uncensorable by using gmask’s cpmask filter if you can guess the password.) One of the mangas is by Rate, and the other is by Oyster, which would explain a lot if you know who they are.
Photobucket
But wait, there’s a good reason for me buying “those” kind of mangas.
When I buy a certain amount of manga I get free shipping, so adding more manga is cheaper. (Until a certain point ofc)
But I only buy short series or one shots, and not everything is in stock at all times, so I had to get something.
Also, I felt like I had to own atleast one, just for the sake of owning one. :P

Anyho’
I didn’t make a christmas update, so one will be coming along shortly.

Way past cool

Photobucket
200 volumes, sadly I’m missing a few volumes here and there. :/ (I’m only missing two of the Norwegian ones though, but then again, there’s only like 20 volumes or something here, it was cancelled in ’94 I think, or ’95, can’t remember. Mint condition though, like everything else I own :3)

Also, cats

One volume to go.

Desucon 4 -Day 2

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Back again, this time one hour later, since I wasn’t going to Neo-Tokyo before I went over to OKS (Where Desucon is being held).
I went to Outland first though, and got some manga:

As far as being crew goes, this day was more or less just running around with my friends, I didn’t really have that much to do, except answering questions about the different events when asked.

Went to see the “The history behind Desucon”-presentation, with Espen and Alejandro, it was pretty entertaining, especially how Alejandro shows his utter contempt over stuff like Naruto, Bleach and especially Twilight, everytime they get mentioned. :P

Half an hour after that, I, nekoflaa, Sindre and Ole decide to go relax at Ryko’s (Ryko89 on youtube) AMV lounge, after about 2 hours watching AMVs with Ryko, me and Nekoflaa leave to do some stuff, I went to buy some stuff from Otacon (from japani.no), which we had decided on earlier.
To be more spesific, this:
Photobucket
‘Kimi Tsunagi Five M’, Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s first full-length album.
It’s not their best in my opinion, but it’s still pretty damn good. :3

And also, this:
Photobucket
Photobucket
Genshiken, awesome series.
There’s 9 volumes, so I’m still missing the two last ones, but I’ll get them in the near future most likely.
This is about otakus and comiket, if you like reading about stuff like that, I’d recommend these, or at least the anime. (Same name.)

Then we went back for one more hour of AMVs, before we decided to go do something else.
After that we just walked around everywhere, with no particular goal in mind, until the auction started.
Not a normal auction though, you could bid to keep or to destroy stuff.
With Alejandro (Which hates everything :P ) as a host this couldn’t be more perfect.
All the money went to a good cause ofc.
There was three really good parts, one can’t be explained though.
The other two was when they cut a twilight poster in two with a katana, and when some (obviously crazy) guy bid 1000kr (about $160) for destroying a $15 hello kitty doll by himself.
That is, first beheading it with a katana before shredding it to pieces with his own hands, that was some pretty strong hate right there. :P
The twilight poster thing is up on youtube.
here

After that it was pretty quiet until the ending show, which had stuff like caramelldansen on stage with Maid crew and organizers, and some coplay event were people had to introduce themselves as the characters they cosplayed, ‘Shookie monster’ (Cookie monster) won, with especially Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez doing a good job aswell in my opinion, but Elmo was awesome, so incredibly in-character.
Edit: Video

After that it was pretty much over, I went over to Neo-Tokyo’s stand where Kenneth had something which was kinda a surprise for me:
Photobucket
Photobucket
Yes, the newest game in the Touhou series (Touhou 12.3th) Touhou Hisōtensoku.
Oh and it has an actual character printed on the cd, I think that’s a first. (Though, I don’t have every Touhou game yet, only about 2/3 of them, so don’t take my word on that.)

After that I went home and to sleep, which I really needed. :P
Money used in total: 3800kr ($670)
Now I’m eagerly awaiting (My wallet isn’t though :P ) next Desucon, which will be in the summer 2010.

Pictures from the event itself will get it’s own post when I get them (and upload them).

He calls himself the first “manganime rapper” and the world’s first “black shinobi rapper”, rapping about everything from Naruto.
I’m no big fan of the Naruto anime (Though, the manga is nice), but his album (Naruto 2009 (Explicit)) showed up on bemaniso, so I just had to give it a try, and well, it’s certainly unique.
Just listen.

Jrock night\Soracon buying spree

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

So yeah, revealing most of what I ordered
First of, touhou games :3
The official ones (which were in stock)
Touhou 7 – Perfect Cherry Blossom
Touhou 8 – Imperishable Night
Touhou 9 – Phantasmagoria of Flower View
Touhou 9.5 – Shoot the Bullet
Touhou 11 – Mountain of Faith

Too bad Embodiment of a Scarlet Devil weren’t in stock, it’s my favorite, and the first non-pc-98 touhou game.

And I got two Touhou spin-offs, Megamari (Like Megaman, just with a touhou theme\ characters\music, and まとめの音楽集その1 by “Moon Goddess”)
Photobucket
Photobucket
Kinda dark picture, but what is haruhi characters doing on the cover…
And why does this page list it as a book?

http://doujinshi.mugimugi.org/book/145552/

It sure as hell doesn’t look like one, atleast mine does look an awful lot like a CD. >_>

Then there’s just one spin-off to go, it’s on its way, more on that when I get it.
Whatever, moving on…

A new headset, yes, I have one from Koss and one pair of Steelseries, but I wanted some smaller ones, I figured I should get some which are a little bit “exotic” or atleast unusual in comparison to what people around here usually have.
So I decided on XCalgo, some japanese brand, I noticed them over at akibaharanews some time ago and they looked pretty cool.
Here’s a GIF
Rawr xcalgo gif

Hmmmmmmmm…………
Photobucket
:)

I also got some manga, I don’t like to buy long series, I will make exceptions though, for series I really like, like Kare Kano and Urutsei Yatsura :3

First of we have:
Tenchi Muyo: Sasami Stories
It’s just a one shot, and it was cheap, so I thought “why not?”
Photobucket

Next one:
Kare Kano
Photobucket
I thought there were just like 1 book, but apparently there’s 21 volumes (IIRC)
I love mangas like this and Lovely Complex, I don’t know why, but these are now both amongst my all-time favorites.
At about 600 pages, this is huge.
Comparison shot:
Photobucket

Last but not least, another random buy. (I influenced Nekoflaa to buy it too :P )
Mao-Chan (By Ran and Ken Akamatsu (Of Love Hina fame, one of the characters even bears a striking resemblance to Narusegawa from Love Hina))
Wikipedia says 4 volumes, but my version is just two slightly larger volumes. (There seems to be somewhere in between 100 and 200 extra pages with info and a side-story)
Photobucket

Comparison shot again.
Photobucket
It was so cheap, couldn’t not buy it. :P

And I needed a new bookmark, so yeah.
Photobucket
Photobucket

And I got some YoruichiXSoifon fanart. :3
Photobucket
That means I didn’t draw it.
I actually haven’t drawn anything in quite a while, still, a bunch of girls requested that I’d join Deviantart, which I now consider doing.

So yeah, I think this be it. :3

Photobucket
:) and also, roar rawr

I and Okami woke up early, ate breakfast on Deli and tried to reach “kongress senteret” before 9, we got there a few minutes late, but didn’t really matter.

Me and a few other people went to get two tv’s at havok’s house.
When we were back and I had properly arranged the chillout spot Jintox still weren’t there.
He came a little bit after the opening show were over. (it was just for the 100 first people to get tickets and crew.

Nekoflaa wrote ⑨ on my cheek

I really liked the AMV they had this time, not that I didn’t like the ones they’ve had before, I just really loved this one, the song and everything. I’ll find out which AMV it was and make a post about it.
Then they showed the three Soracon trailers and talked a little bit about what was gonna happen.
That’s about it, not as big as the Desucon opening show, but still good.

People played a bunch of Super Mario World.
(And Kenneth’s (@neo-tokyo) kid were suprisingly good, especially considering they don’t have a SNES\Super Famicom at home.
I asked him (Kenneth) about it and he just told me it runs in the family. :P

Over to the cosplay competition, I kinda missed it :(
Though I know this happened:
pedobear
Beyond awesome, but since it was on a huge stage in the middle of one of oslo’s largest marketplaces (? I’m not that familiar with oslo, but I think it is) It migh’ve been a daring move, if it goes in some newspapers or something it would’ve been blown up like hell.
Mainly because of incompetence and unfamiliarity with the subject.
But yeah, that would’ve needed more than a little bit of explaining I think.
(oh, and they did it twice)
So what have we learned?
Never send someone cosplaying Pedobear (Even though it’s a girl) and a little girl (unprotected) out on the same stage.

And we had jack sparrow (Which really looked and played like he was the real deal, pretty amazing stuff. And a guy wrapped in two plastic bags, bordering on scary. :P )
I got some more stuff, like fanart. (YoruichiXSoiFon hehehe :3)
More on that in the third post coming up, Tomorrow, since I’m starting to get tired.

So we got home at about 24:00 I think, mostly because we got told to take train number 19 while we really should take number 17, so we ended up taking a later one.

So yeah, saturday, jrock night +more

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I picked up a lot of stuff which I’ll cover in another post. (I’ll divide this weekend into 3 posts)

I met up with staiain and nekoflaa (stian and thomas) at Outland where we walked around for quite some time. I bought some mangas (And I influenced nekoflaa to buy some of them too, though he bought 10+ mangas or something, he used alot of money on it atleast :P ), more on which ones later.

Outside we found a card from “Oslo anonymous” which said go to “youfoundthecard.com”
Pretty hilarious.

Then we went to Neo-Tokyo which recently moved to “Arkaden”, a shopping center of sorts.
I picked up most of the stuff, except for one thing which hadn’t arrived yet.
Then we went to burger king, where we ate and leeched of their open internet connection. :3 We played stepmania on my eee and tried out a new pair of headphones.
Then we went over to where jrock night were being held.

We watched The Lillith perform (a danish “jrock band” playing mostly cover songs), while I and Nekoflaa’s sister where “leashed to eachother”, literally.
I’m not really keen on them, the reason I’m there is more for the social experience, hanging out with friends and stuff.
Though I really liked the first non-cover song they played, can’t remember what it was called though.

Then I slept over at okami’s sister’s appartment.
We watched a bunch of kpop\jpop bands on youtube and the whole Rain vs. Stephen Colbert feud (Which awesomely enough ends with a game of DDR :P )
